Welcome back, football season!  The USC vs Alabama game has long been anticipated.  Last fall, when my oldest played football in our local program, I met one of the moms from the division just above my son’s.  While getting to know each other, I learned that her husband was also from Alabama and he was on staff with USC football.  We chatted about the preseason opener for this year.  I explained how it was a bittersweet matchup.  My papa was a diehard USC fan and it was the very first team I ever cheered. Those games made me love college football.  My family and I moved to Alabama when my dad got stationed there in the Army.  I was 5.  It was a whole new world for me.  I learned quickly that there were only two teams that existed in that state, Bama or Auburn.  Bama was my team.  Luckily for me, I never had to watch a USC/Bama matchup with my papa.  At the start of last night’s game, my stomach was in knots.  It’s a new year, a new young team, and it was against my papa’s team.  The announcers kept mentioning Tee Martin and his new position as the offensive coordinator for USC.  He was from Alabama.  He played ball for Tennessee and for a while in the NFL.  Him and his family were my clients last fall.  I always want my clients to do well.  I still do…just not against my team.    Here are a few favorites from my session with the Martins last fall.
